"Fraternus helps to unite the men of a parish into a brotherhood seeking virtue and holiness, and then provides a framework to make sure that passes on to the next generation through intentional mentoring." -Fraternus.net
Through this mentorship, young men learn to grow in virtue, prayer and their commitment to Christ and one another. Men do the same through fraternal fellowship.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Frat Night? Frat nights are the main meetings for Fraternus. During these nights, we play games together, share a meal, learn about virtue and the Christian life and meet in small groups for mentoring and sharing. Each Frat night ends with a specific challenge for brothers to grow in that night's virtue.
Do I have to register now? No! Any man (or young man) may join us at Frat night (ages 11-99) and see if this group is right for them. If it is, we encourage you to register so that you can get the materials you need to fully participate. How can I join? In order to register, you must do so in two places. First, CLICK HERE to register and pay our local fee of $10. Next, CLICK HERE to register with the national organization. The local fee helps us to pay for meals while registration with the Fraternus organization will provide you with the materials you need for meetings. When you register, we encourage you to also get your "dress grey" shirt, but it is not required. We do not wear these shirts except on special occasions. When do you meet? We meet on select Wednesdays from 6:10PM-8:10PM in the school gym. Does a father have to attend? No. However, we do encourage fathers to attend for their own spiritual formation and the benefit of fraternal fellowship. This is not a Father/Son group. In fact, one of the benefits of Fraternus is that Fathers will have other men involved in their son's lives who are also pointing to Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life. Can an adult join without a son? Yes. You can absolutely join if you are an adult man without a son. Please talk to our Youth Director about what this involves by emailing [email protected]. Can a non-Catholic join? Yes. However, leadership roles (especially as group leaders) are reserved to practicing Catholics.
