If you are interested in having your child baptized you will need to register to take a Baptismal Class which is good for five years. Visit the Baptism Preparation page for more information. Baptisms are celebrated once a month. If you are interested in having your child baptized, please contact Sue Gammon in the parish office at (919) 570-0070 ext. 108 to register for class, or fill out the form below.
The parents or legal guardians must request the sacrament for their child and there should be a well-founded hope that the child will be brought up in the Catholic religion. Godparents must meet certain requirements according to canon law. One godparent is required but there can be two; one male and one female. They must be: at least 16 years of age, have received the sacraments of Confirmation and the Eucharist, and demonstrate that they are practicing Catholics with documentation by their local Catholic Priest and if married, it took place within the Catholic Church.
Those interested in entering the Catholic Church are invited into a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or the same Rite adapted for children. To learn more about inquiry into the Catholic Church at St. Catherine follow the links entitled: Becoming Catholic or click here.
